About Me
Laura P. Schaposnik is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Illinois Chicago. She earned her PhD at the University of Oxford and has been recognized with prestigious awards including a Simons Foundation Fellowship, a Presidential Award, a Humboldt Fellowship, an NSF CAREER Award, and multiple NSF grants. Her research spans geometry, topology, and mathematical physics, with a focus on Higgs bundles and their applications across mathematics and physics, as well as applications of geometry to the natural world.
Research Interests
Geometric aspects of Higgs bundles and the Hitchin fibration, as well as mathematical physics, and differential and algebraic geometry.
