Nicole Looper receives NSF CAREER award for 2024-29

Assistant Professor Nicole Looper has received an NSF CAREER (Faculty Early Career Development Program) award. CAREER is an NSF (National Science Foundation) award that supports early-career faculty that may serve as academic role model in research and education and lead progress in the mission of their department or organization. Activities pursued by early-career faculty lay a foundation for for a lifetime of leadership in integrating education and research.

Professor Looper's grant is titled, NSF Award # 2337942 - CAREER: Arithmetic Dynamical Systems on Projective Varieties and aims to explore problems in the recently developed subject of arithmetic dynamics with the hope of bring to unify problems and techniques from the as-of-yet largely disparate fields of number theory and dynamical systems.  A more detailed summary is available in the abstract at the bottom of the linked grant information page previously referenced.
